About your Teacher Sandra Temple

Teaching you with Passion and Purpose

‘Too Close’

Sandra is a self-taught artist and illustrator with over 40 years of experience. Her career has included an 8-year cartoon strip, corporate logo design, and collaborations with organizations like the RSPCA, Queensland Police, and local councils. She has illustrated 22 children’s books, written and illustrated three more, and has a passion for theatre, jewellery design, and conservation education.

‘Sleeping’

In 1998, Sandra began organising art exhibitions, including the inaugural International Wildlife Exhibition in 1999. She remains a Life Member of the Queensland Wildlife Artists Society Inc. While she used to exhibit frequently, demand for her originals now outpaces her ability to produce them, though her limited-edition prints remain available online.

‘Goanna’

Her focus is now on endangered species, working in all mediums with a love for mixed media. Sandra is an art judge, teacher, and workshop tutor, as well as a product Ambassador Faber-Castell Australia. She’s also an internationally recognised body painter, contributing to advertising, special effects, film, and events like Comic-Con and Supernova.

‘Out of Darkness’

During the 2020/2021 pandemic, Sandra embraced online teaching, launching WildArt-teacher an online art school – to share her skills with aspiring artists worldwide.

Conservation Efforts

‘Family Gossip’

Sandra actively supports wildlife conservation, donating original artworks and prints to selected local and international groups each year. She ensures funds raised go directly to conservation efforts and only supports organizations with minimal administrative costs.
